Meenachi Ramasamy Educational trust was founded in the year 2000-2001 to fulfill and put in action the dreams of uplifting the educational, economical and social status of the bottom layer of the people in and around Udayarpalayam, who toiled and moiled in the hot sun on the cashew sylvan soil to survive in the poor and poorest condition by the philanthropist, harbinger and stalwart Kalvi Thanthai Theiva Thiru M.Ramasamy Mudaliar to provide and promote high quality of education in the rural area of Ariyalur District.

By 2005, his social contributions had come to an end. Since then, orphan students have received free education as a way of honoring his service. However, because of the solid foundation he set, his successors were able to succeed and carry out the goal of founding an engineering college. By founding Meenakshi Ramaswamy Engineering College in 2009 to offer technical education to the public, his aim was realized.In this district, this is the first engineering college to be established.
